Friday 28 March 2014

A 24% increase in visitors and queues out the door at Internet Retailing Expo 2014

Over 5,000 of the leading retailers and suppliers of the multichannel industry passed through the doors of the NEC this week at the Internet Retailing Expo 2014 where  John Lewis, Mothercare, Waitrose, Shop Direct and French Connection were amongst the names that shared their expertise with visitors.

Speaking at the show, Chris Haighton, Head of Retail Logistics at the Shop Direct Group, said: “IRX really covers the whole of the game so it’s nice to go and speak to people about personalisation, about web chat about internet marketing or emails, because that gives me a much broader understanding of the industry as a whole.”

Visitors also learned about the latest technology in the retail market from over 200 exhibitors across the ecom eco-system. After another successful IRX, Don Bush, Vice President of Marketing at online fraud prevention business Kount, said: “Internet Retailing events always draw an impressive quality of visitor owing to the superiority of the speakers and content of the show. This is the third year we’ve exhibited at the IRX and we plan to sign up in 2015.”

Already looking to next year and in response to the growing need of delivery and logistics solutions for online businesses, IRX 2015 will see the launch of a brand new show – eDelivery Expo. With over 1.5billion parcels expected in order movements in the UK alone, the show is ideally placed to deliver an exciting mix of suppliers, education and best practice advice in this area. Alongside the IRX, the eDelivery Expo will deliver a full educational programme with case studies from respected retailers in conferences and workshops.
