Financial technology and alternative lending provider, Advanced Merchant Payments received a splendid mention in Mr Osborne’s economy speech in Hong Kong yesterday. During his speech on achieving strong and sustainable growth, Osborne announced:

“…On the other side of the river a small Hong Kong tech company called Advanced Merchant Payments will be opening in London’s Tech City…They will be providing innovative financial services to SMEs and their banks.

And when they wanted to expand outside Asia, they choose to come to our country first – because we have the best environment for start-ups, a world class financial services industry, and one of the most open and competitive economies in the world.”

Advanced Merchant Payments enables banks, merchant acquirers and other institutional lenders to profitably offer short-term, unsecured, loans to under-served small businesses, and will be launch in the UK later this year.
