Accessories Retailer Claire’s Selects 1010data to Manage Data Globally
Tuesday 14 January 2014

1010data, Inc. has announced that Claire’s, Inc., one of the world’s leading specialty retailers of fashion jewelry and accessories for young women, teens, tweens and girls, has chosen the company’s cloud-based platform for big data discovery across its global businesses.

“The amount of data our stores generate expands on a daily basis. In order to compete effectively, it is increasingly important to analyze data at a more granular level. This meant that we needed to invest in a global platform that would allow us to manage big data and easily glean insights,” said Rob Cole, Senior Vice President, Information Technologies at Claire’s.  “1010data provides us with a single, flexible platform to store, process and analyze data at its most granular level with minimal need for data aggregations and data marts to support the business.”

With over 3,000 stores serving more than three million customers in the U.S. and across Europe annually, Claire’s generates vast volumes of data from its point-of-sale, inventory, merchandising, supply chain and other enterprise systems. Claire’s continued growth has increased its need for a more extensive solution with improved data analysis capabilities.

1010data allows Claire’s to analyze the data in its local businesses and also share analyses with colleagues at any time from any location.

“Retalers are realizing they need to upgrade their legacy architectures to allow business users to perform data discovery against all of their data,” said Sandy Steier, Chief Executive Officer of 1010data. “1010data offers retailers like Claire’s an agile platform that enables ad-hoc analysis on the largest volumes of data, so they can get answers quickly and respond to rapidly changing in-store and competitive landscapes.”
