The Spire Payments “SP” line was announced earlier this year with an impressive set of credentials ranging from PCI 3.0 certification to SRED compliance, EMV as well as compliance with the key contactless standards PayPass, Paywave and Express Pay.

“This order will mark the beginning of a long and close relationship between Redsys and our “SP” line” stated Kazem Aminaee, CEO of the Spire Group, “Our operations in Spain have been providing high quality and reliable POS solutions to the Spanish market for the last 25-years and we have an installed base of close to 400.000 terminals, so Redsys knows that we deliver quality and we are here for the long-term.”

The order placed by Redsys is currently focused on the Spire Payments SPw70 (wireless GPRS), SPw60 (Wi-Fi) and the SPc50 countertop terminal, but new PIN-Pads are also part of Redsys’ future plans.

Fernando Bonmati, payment devices director at Redsys, stated: “We were very impressed with this POS solution” stated Redsys, “The team at Spire Payments have come out with a high quality family of POS terminals in record time and this should give the market something to think about.”

The “SP” line is closing in the certification process on the Redsys application v4.0, including contactless and colour touch screen functions.
