Visa Europe Probes Potential Processor Security Breach

Visa Europe is investigating a possible data breach at an Eastern European payment processor that may have hit thousands of cardholders.

The firm has confirmed it is looking in to the problem which appears to have hit a processor serving a merchant chain operating in several Eastern European countries.

Romania’s state-owned CEC Bank has confirmed that it is already in the process of reissuing around 17,000 cards over the incident, according to the IDG News Service.
