Payments Systems Easier To Secure When They Are Hardwired!
Thursday 8 September 2011

This is a great article from the Green Sheets. New guideliness for PCI DSS compliance for wireless networks have made it quite clear to experts that there is no replacement for having a hardwired contained network. Although there are many steps that can be taken (including the now mandatory firewalls need to be PCI DSS compliant)to secure your data on the airwaves, the bottom line is that the end product is not total security but acceptable levels of vulnerablity. Positives from the guidelines are that it has quite clerarly pointed out that the once popular WEP connections are no longer acceptable and that the more stringent WPA and WPA2 are now the way forward in terms of wireless security.
